Breezewood Church History
1952 - 2008
The Breezewood Church of God of Prophecy was organized November 16, 1952 with 11 members. Rev. Albert B. Horne was the 1st pastor. Click the underlined words to view a copy of the First Clerk and Treasurer's original minutes of organization. This event was the result of Sunday School and prayer meetings in homes and tent revivals. A lot was purchased on Wilkes Road off Highway 301 South in Fayetteville, North Carolina and a tent was erected. Worship services were held in the tent until a cinderblock building could be constructed. With wooden benches and sawdust and shavings for a floor, the church began to grow. Some of the people instrumental in the beginning of the church at the Wilkes Road location are still active in the church today.

Our church is leaping forward into the harvest. Over 20 new members have been added to the church and God is continuing to bless our efforts. We have been conducting 2 Sunday Morning Worship services with great success. A Stewardship Campaign was begun in 2002 to raise funds for new facilities to house our various programs and to replace our existing too-full sanctuary. An active search for land is under way.
The "gym-atorium" is now complete. We have enjoyed several special events there using the stage for our Christmas and Easter presentations, homecoming dinners, and fund-raising events. The School building facilities have been updated to accomodate students through the 8th grade level. We have a well furnished library and a fully equipped computer lab. Our dream and goal.
We desire to win souls to Christ. Spiritual growth of the members and friends of the Breezewood church is a reality as we reach out through several programs including Children's, Youth, Senior Citizen's and Couples ministries, Christian Education, and a Christian Child Care Center. We seek your support and prayer for revival fire to fall as we minister to the greater Fayetteville-Hope Mills area and surrounding communities.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THESE SUCCESSES!
